    Party like a Unicorn!

Do you believe in unicorns?  We sure do in our house!  This past weekend we threw an extra special Unicorn birthday for my little girl who just turned 6! I love to throw parties and especially parties for my kids!  They usually get a party with their school friends and then a second one with their family & friends!  This year I was feeling a bit lazy and just wanted to have one but my little girl begged and pleaded to have two parties, so of course mom guilt hit and she got her special unicorn celebration! It’s hard keeping up with these kids and when you throw one great…

Happy first day of summer!!  It was such a gorgeous day here in Toronto – sunny, bright and hot!  Just the right way to welcome summer! We’ve got a fun and busy weekend planned!  It was my little girl’s 6th birthday last weekend and while we had a super fun party with all her little friends, this week is round two for the celebrations!  We’re throwing the princess a special party at our place for all of our family and friends!  I was running around all day preparing so looking forward to starting the weekend (and summer) off with my absolute favourite summer drink, Sangria! This is perfect for sitting…

Easy & Delicious Mother’s Day Brunch

Hey everyone!  It’s Thursday and just two more days until the weekend!  And it’s Mother’s Day this weekend too, so lots to celebrate!  What are your plans for Mother’s Day? Every year seems to be the same for us.  The mad dash between visiting my mom, visiting my mother-in-law and not much time for us as a family because we’re running around so much.  A couple years we tried going out to a restaurant for lunch and brunch and that was just so crazy too.  It’s just so busy that day!  So just last night we decided we’re doing something different this year.  We’re hosting a Mother’s Day brunch at…

Throw the Best Cinco De Mayo Party Ever!

Happy May 1st everyone!  So excited it’s May already, even if the weather isn’t feeling so Springy yet.  It used to be a little tradition when I was growing up that on the 1st of May I would collect blooming flowers and branches with my grandmother and we would make a little wreath to hang on the front door to celebrate and welcome May.  The beginning of May must definitely mean summer is just around the corner!  May brings so many things – pretty flowers, warmer weather, Mother’s Day and of course two of my favourite unofficial celebrations, May the 4th (Star Wars family, can’t help it!) and Cinco de…

Traditional Greek Easter Cookies – Koulourakia

Hi everyone!  Hope all of you had a great weekend and if you were celebrating Easter that you had a good one!  We’re Greek Orthodox so we’ll be celebrating Easter this upcoming Sunday.  But the traditional Easter preparations have begun in our house and we’re passing them down through the generations too! I love baking and I’ve been doing it since I was a little girl.  Growing up in a greek family, from an early age I was in the kitchen baking traditional greek pastries and desserts with my mom and grandmother (yiayia in Greek), especially around the holidays, and Easter is a big one for us.  Baking has become…

    Ultimate Star Wars Birthday Party

9 years ago in a galaxy not so far away a little boy was born, and the force was very strong with him!  It’s so hard to believe my little Jedi who changed my life forever isn’t so little anymore!  And I can’t believe he’s 9 already! My little guy has been a crazy Star Wars fan for what seems like forever and we have honestly thrown not one, not two but literally six Star Wars birthday parties!  I’m a bit obsessed with throwing parties for the kids, it’s just so much fun and I love getting right into the theme!  I guess you can say I’m a praty momma…

    Best Ever Skinny Margaritas

It’s been almost a week since we got back from our sunny vacation and I’m a bit sad!  Reality has hit me hard, we’re not in Kansas anymore.  Well, in our case Florida, specifically Orlando and the land of all things Disney, sun and magical happiness!  I just love going to Florida!  While we also stayed at another great hotel for part of our trip, I love the hotel we stayed at for the last few years and we were able to come back to it.  I always seem to score a deal for it at the very last minute!  And this year was no exception!  It’s my happy place…

Best Ever & Easy Dark Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes

This weekend in Toronto is a bit of a double celebration.  A lot of us are continuing to celebrate Valentine’s Day and it’s also Family Day Weekend!  Double the fun!  And we’re looking at some extra family fun, including some sweet treats for my sweets! Last night for Valentine’s Day we made a special dessert for after dinner.  It was our first time making Dark Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes with the kids.  I’ll be honest, it wasn’t my first time!  A friend from work had shared this recipe with me when I was pregnant with my son 9 years ago.  I modified it slightly and the hubby and I loved…
